Why Did They Approach Scottish Communications Group?

SecuriGroup approach us at the tender stage to become their technical partner on the project because of our proven track record in system design, and our experience in deploying systems in harsh environments.

The tender was to provide a security solution for the construction phase of the new Forth Replacement Crossing. It specified the need for a blended security solution comprising manned guarding (provided by SecuriGroup) and design and installation of a complex CCTV and Access Control System (provided by Scottish Communications Group).

Our Solution

There were a number of key challenges we were tasked to address with the development of this system:

   Size & Setup of Site – The site was actually comprised of a number of disparate locations. Our solution had to monitor each of them and proactively alert the security team so they could immediately respond to the correct location. We achieved this by installing a complex and comprehensive wireless network that spanned the entire site.
   Personnel Health & Safety – We were tasked to develop a solution that would account, in the event of an emergency, for all personnel who were “water-side”. We accomplished this by developing a bespoke video analytics system that would cope with the complex and changing shift rota.

The Result

Our flexible system not only met the clients initial needs, but has coped with the “ever-changing” needs of this complex construction site. We have been able to increase the value for money for the client by relocating and re-using equipment as needed.
