Why Did They Approach Scottish Communications Group?

We have supplied security and communications services to the House of Bruar since 2009. The initial phase of the High Definition CCTV upgrade was complete in Late 2010, at this time it was the first major High Definition System installed by SCG. Over the years the system has proven itself with multiple high value captures.

Technology has moved on considerable since 2010, and as part of our yearly review with them we demonstrated the latest camera equipment which we have just installed.

Our Solution

We have delivered a new High Definition recording and monitoring platform which encompasses the existing HD fixed cameras but also add addition high megapixel cameras in key areas across the sales floor and external access routes.

We added two new 360dg fixed multi-sensor cameras that now give them coverage of the entire sales area with just 2 cameras.

The new system gives the House of Bruar scope for growth as they look to bring external sites back to the single monitoring front end software. Its our intention to further add to the system with Video Analytic detection in the future to allow the users of the system to get live alarm activation direct from the cameras to remote smart devices which with increase the efficiency of the system operation.

Key Challenges we overcame

Existing Camera Migration –The existing HD cameras operate on a proprietary format and therefore would not allow us to reuse them on the new Recording & Monitoring Platform. However with some assistance from the Manufacturers we succeeded in bringing the old HD cameras on board, which in turn offered a large saving for the client who did not have to replace the existing cameras which were still fit for purpose.

The Result

The system was installed to a high standard and the client is delighted with the performance and is planning to build on this system in the future. The system was put to use during the install period and before it was commissioned it had already achieved its goal of recording an incident, which the client successfully exported without the training having taken place!
