The Client

City Parking (Glasgow) LLP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Glasgow City Council, formed in June 2007 to manage and develop the off-street public car parks previously operated by the Council.

Why Did They Approach Scottish Communications Group?

City Parking (Glasgow) LLP had conducted various evaluation trials of BodyWorn solutions and came to the conclusion that the offering from Scottish Communications Group best fitted their needs.

Our Solution

We worked closely with City Parking (Glasgow) LLC to develop a Body Worn CCTV system that could meet their needs. Key challenges we faced during this project:

Ease of Use – It was important that the units be unobtrusive and that they not impact the day-to-day duties of the parking officers.
Long Operating Hours – Although the units were required to be small and compact, there was also the key requirement that they be robust and able to cope with a full 8-hour shift without the need for a battery charge.
Confidentiality & Security of Data – It was critical that the system download be fully encrypted and that access was extremely tightly controlled so that no footage could be accidentally released to the public domain.

The Result

Our Body Worn CCTV solution was so effective that they became an integral part of the Health and Safety personal issue equipment required to be used on a daily basis by the parking wardens. As a direct result of the BodyWorn devices, complaint and allegation investigation time has been greatly reduced.
