The Client

Johnstons of Elgin are a large retail and manufacturing company based in Moray. The company was established in 1797 and manufacture high-quality clothing and accessories. We met the client through mutual involvement with the Royal Warrant Holder Association.

Why Did They Approach Scottish Communications Group?

They approached us looking to upgrade their existing, antiquated, analog system. They wanted to replace their existing system with one that would be able to scale with them as they increased their premises.

Our Solution

We conducted a full site survey and met with the board to present the new technologies that were available to meet their needs. Our solution focussed on:

• Older Buildings – We had to carefully design our solution to cope with the numerous older buildings at the site.
• Vehicle Tracking – We integrated a new license plate scanning system with two new access barriers at the front and rear entrance that records detailed images and license plate numbers as vehicles enter the site.
• New Control Room – We installed a new control room that allows the security guards to view the CCTV images onsite and control the new access barriers.

The Result

Our system met the client’s needs exactly. The image quality of the new system far exceeded the client’s expectations. The client now has a new system that can grow with them over time and provides a far superior security to their site.
