SCG Installs Advanced CCTV on MV Bute for CMAL

Following their work on 25 CMAL ports across Scotland, Scottish Communications Group was tasked in late 2018 with installing a new CCTV system on the MV Bute.

The upgrade aimed to enhance the safety of staff and passengers, using high-definition Bosch PTZ cameras integrated with a Bosch Video Management and analytics system. The system covers key areas, including the main passenger lounge, allowing onboard operators to monitor and respond to incidents effectively.

Despite a tight timeline, SCG completed the installation in just four days, ensuring minimal disruption to ferry operations. John Salton, CMAL Fleet Engineer, commented: “This new robust CCTV system will allow issues with customers and crew to be recorded and presented to relevant authorities if needed.”

SCG looks forward to continuing their partnership with CMAL on future vessels, including the MV Argyle.
