Strathallan School
The Client
The client is Strathallan School, a leading independent school in Scotland that offers day and boarding tuition to boys and girls.
Why Did They Approach Scottish Communications Group?
Strathallan approached us for assistance in upgrading their existing CCTV system. Their existing system was antiquated and was spread out across seven different recording units in seven different buildings. They asked us to design and install a new, flexible, IP CCTV system that could expand with them over time, and could be run from one single recording and monitoring location.
Our Solution
After conducting a thorough site survey, we followed this up with a client demonstration of our suggested technology. Key challenges that we overcame with our solution were:
Flexibility for Growth– The client specified the need for the system to be flexible enough to grow with their requirements over the coming years. We also proactively retained existing cameras that were of suitable quality to be IP enabled, ensuring no unnecessary capital expenditure was required.
Relocation of Recording & Monitoring Location– The client specified the need for the new system to be run from one single location (not the seven locations that their existing setup required). We accomplished this by installing an IP CCTV system that fed all images into one central recording and monitoring station.
The Result
We successfully develop a new IP CCTV setup for Strathallan that used a number of the existing cameras, and amalgamated their existing recording and monitoring stations into one central location. The image quality of the new cameras far exceeded the client’s expectations, and they are currently looking to expand the system, which will be very easy to do within our flexible system.
